The Adventurers Blu-ray presents a hard-edged, globe-trotting action thriller from Ringo Lam, one of the defining voices of Hong Kong cinema in the 1990s. Blending heroic bloodshed intensity with international espionage, the film traces a lifelong quest for revenge forged in political violence and personal loss.

As a child, Wai Lok-Yan witnesses the murder of his parents in Cambodia during the rise of Pol Pot. Raised in Thailand by his father’s former colleague, Yan grows into a disciplined operative who joins the Thai Air Force. Years later, he discovers that his parents’ killer, Ray Liu, has reinvented himself as a wealthy arms dealer operating in the United States. With covert assistance from the CIA, Yan assumes a new identity and infiltrates San Francisco’s criminal underworld, drawing closer to Liu by gaining the trust of his daughter, Crystal, while navigating rival gangs and escalating danger.

Made shortly before Ringo Lam departed for Hollywood to direct Maximum Risk, The Adventurers stands as a sharp, overlooked entry in the heroic bloodshed cycle, pairing kinetic action with political intrigue and emotional drive. This Limited Edition Blu-ray marks the film’s first release on Blu-ray in North America, presented from a brand new 2K restoration and supported by an extensive collection of new and archival extras.
