The Sacred Spirit Blu-ray introduces the uncanny, unsettling debut feature from Spanish writer-director Chema García Ibarra, blending deadpan realism with cosmic conspiracy. In the wake of a young girl’s disappearance, José Manuel lives a quiet, routine-bound life running a tapas bar, caring for his elderly mother and attending secretive meetings of Ovni-Levante, a local UFO society obsessed with extraterrestrial contact. When the group’s leader dies unexpectedly, José is left as the sole guardian of a mysterious cosmic truth—one that may alter the future of humanity.

Part social realism, part science-fiction parable, The Sacred Spirit Blu-ray evokes comparisons to Ken Loach and Aki Kaurismäki colliding with The X-Files. Humane, darkly funny and deeply unsettling, the film is a provocative exploration of belief, isolation and obsession, marking the arrival of a singular new voice in contemporary genre cinema.
