The Films of Hisayasu Sato: Volume #3 Blu-ray collects three of the Japanese auteur’s most unsettling and psychologically abrasive works, newly restored and presented together for the first time. A defining figure of the Pinku Eiga movement, Hisayasu Sato fused erotic cinema with nihilism, cruelty, and rigorous character studies, crafting films that probe obsession, alienation, and the collapse of identity. This third volume assembles a trio of radically different but thematically linked features, all restored in 2K from their original 35mm camera negatives under Sato’s direct supervision.

Kyrie Eleison plunges into the psychosexual despair of a socially isolated medical researcher whose desperate experiments to save her comatose lover spiral into sadism and hallucination. Rafureshia shifts tone toward an absurdist, almost fairytale-inflected vision of female sexuality, weaving together dark humour, exploitation, and emotional dissonance. Turtle Vision retools the rape-and-revenge framework into a voyeuristic nightmare, filtered through Sato’s fixation on surveillance, video imagery, and mediated violence. Together, these films showcase Sato’s range while reinforcing his reputation as one of the most uncompromising voices in Japanese genre cinema.

Presented by Pink Line, this special limited edition Blu-ray set includes a spot gloss hard slipcase and slipcover combo designed by Steak Mtn., a 40-page perfect-bound book, and is strictly limited to 4,000 units.
