Roman Porno Reboot Collection Vol. 1 Blu-ray brings together five bold reinterpretations of Nikkatsu’s iconic Roman Porno line, reimagined by a new generation of Japanese filmmakers.
 
This 4-disc set includes Antiporno, Aroused by Gymnopedies, Dawn of the Felines, Wet Woman in the Wind, and White Lily, each offering a distinct perspective on intimacy, identity, and human connection.
 
Antiporno: Kyoko, a young artist with a sadomasochistic streak, wreaks havoc on everyone that she encounters, but her worst behaviour is reserved for her assistant Noriko, whom she humiliates in increasingly extreme ways. As their dynamic unfolds, the film twists expectations through a surreal and reflexive shift in reality.
 
Aroused by Gymnopedies: A modern take on the Roman Porno genre, the film follows Shinji, a middle-aged director trapped in a cycle of creative failure and self-destruction. Over the course of a week, a series of encounters begin to unravel his work, relationships, and sense of purpose.
 
Dawn of the Felines: Set within the neon-lit streets of Tokyo, the film follows three sex workers navigating nightly encounters, personal struggles, and the constant pressure of survival. Each dawn brings reflection on loneliness, resilience, and the search for meaning.
 
Wet Woman in the Wind: A free-spirited and unpredictable woman disrupts the isolated life of a reclusive playwright, unleashing a chaotic and provocative chain of events that explores desire, control, and the boundaries of restraint.
 
White Lily: A troubled teenage runaway is taken in by a ceramic artist, forming a relationship that evolves into something far more complex. As grief, dependency, and emotional instability take hold, their bond becomes increasingly volatile.
 
Together, these films revisit a historically significant genre with modern sensibilities, blending visual experimentation with character-driven storytelling across five unique directorial voices.
