The Catman of Paris (1946) Limited Edition Blu-ray presents Lesley Selander’s rare Republic Pictures horror film in an Australian import region free release. Set in 1896 Paris, the film follows author Charles Regnier, who returns from exotic travels with a controversial bestseller that the Ministry of Justice wants banned.
 
When an official is killed the same night Regnier returns, the city is shaken by rumours of a mysterious attacker with claw-like violence. The prefect of police suspects a supernatural “were-cat,” while Inspector Severen believes Regnier may be hiding a very human motive. As more killings occur and Regnier suffers strange blackouts, the mystery of the Catman of Paris grows darker.
 
Starring Carl Esmond, Lenore Aubert, Adele Mara and Douglass Dumbrille, The Catman of Paris is a compact gothic mystery from Republic’s horror cycle. This Limited Edition Blu-ray marks the film’s worldwide Blu-ray debut and includes a 4K scan of the original negative, new commentary, new video essay, feature-length Republic Pictures documentary, English mono audio, English HOH subtitles and limited slipcase packaging.
