Hitchcock: The Early Years - Volume Two LE Hardbox Blu-ray presents four key Alfred Hitchcock films from 1936 to 1940 in a 4-disc Australian import region free release. Following Hitchcock’s transition from silent cinema into sound, this second volume captures the director sharpening the suspense, dark humour and thriller mechanics that would define his later international legacy.

Sabotage (1936)

A detective investigates a saboteur plotting an attack in London, in one of Hitchcock’s most highly regarded British thrillers. Adapted from Joseph Conrad’s The Secret Agent, the film stars Sylvia Sidney, Oskar Homolka and John Loder.

Young and Innocent (1937)

After a woman’s body washes ashore, a young man is wrongly suspected of murder and goes on the run to prove his innocence. Adapted from Josephine Tey’s A Shilling for Candles, this mystery showcases Hitchcock’s growing command of pursuit, mistaken identity and suspense.

The Lady Vanishes (1938)

A young woman aboard a Trans-Continental Express tries to uncover the truth when an English governess mysteriously disappears and everyone around her denies the woman was ever there. Margaret Lockwood and Michael Redgrave star in one of Hitchcock’s most beloved British films.

Foreign Correspondent (1940)

An American reporter is sent to Europe on the eve of war and becomes entangled in espionage, political intrigue and an urgent international conspiracy. Nominated for six Academy Awards including Best Picture, the film stars Joel McCrea, Laraine Day and Herbert Marshall.

Also included is the bonus film Waltzes From Vienna, presented in standard definition.
