As nuclear annihilation looms, a renegade scientist (Victor Kilian) assembles a team of specialists to drill into the Earth’s core in search of a hidden ecosystem capable of sustaining human life. Joined by uneasy collaborators played by Otto Waldis and Marilyn Nash, the expedition descends into darkness both literal and moral, confronting isolation, dwindling resources, and the crushing weight of extinction-level fear.
 
Scripted by Oscar® nominee Millard Kaufman — and long rumored to include uncredited contributions from blacklisted writer Dalton Trumbo — Unknown World stands apart from its era’s more optimistic genre fare. Directed by Terrell O.
