Ballad in Blood Blu-ray marks Ruggero Deodato’s shocking return to filmmaking after more than two decades. Inspired by the infamous Perugia exchange student murder case, the controversial director of Cannibal Holocaust and House on the Edge of the Park crafts a modern exploitation thriller filled with sex, drugs, paranoia, and brutal violence.

After a wild night of clubbing, a young woman, her boyfriend, and his drug dealer friend awaken to a horrifying discovery: the woman’s quiet roommate has been brutally murdered. As panic sets in and the group scrambles to cover their tracks, buried secrets and shifting loyalties begin to surface.

Drawing loose inspiration from a real-life crime that captivated the world, Deodato’s return to the director’s chair delivers a disturbing and cynical thriller driven by excess and moral decay. Featuring a pounding score by Claudio Simonetti (Suspiria, Demons), Ballad in Blood blends true crime inspiration with the sleazy intensity that made Deodato one of cult cinema’s most notorious filmmakers.
