Among them are Nora Miao and Angela Mao, whose fierce screen presence anchors the film’s emotional core. With action choreography by a young Sammo Hung, who also appears on screen, the film delivers fast, physical combat that signalled a new direction for Hong Kong martial arts cinema.
 
Produced as Golden Harvest’s first feature, The Invincible Eight stands as an essential precursor to the explosion of kung fu cinema that followed. This release marks the film’s first-ever presentation on Blu-ray, newly restored from the original negative and packed with collector-focused extras.
