The Daimajin Trilogy Blu-ray Set presents all three classic Daiei giant monster epics in High Definition, restoring a long-overlooked cornerstone of 1960s Japanese fantasy cinema. Blending jidaigeki period drama with towering kaiju spectacle, these films tell sweeping tales of feudal tyranny and divine vengeance brought forth by an ancient stone god.

The set includes:

Daimajin (1966) – directed by Kimiyoshi Yasuda
Return of Daimajin (1966) – directed by Kenji Misumi
Wrath of Daimajin (1966) – directed by Kazuo Mori

In Daimajin, the children of a murdered lord invoke the fury of a slumbering mountain deity to punish a ruthless usurper. Return of Daimajin finds the stone god awakened once more when a warlord terrorizes villagers near a sacred lake. In Wrath of Daimajin, four brave boys journey into the mountains to call upon the ancient guardian to free their enslaved families.

Combining lavish historical detail, stylized direction and impressive practical effects, The Daimajin Trilogy stands alongside Godzilla and Gamera as one of Japan’s great monster sagas — but with a uniquely mythic and folkloric edge.
