The Bleeder Blu-ray resurrects a singular oddity in Scandinavian genre history: Sweden’s first feature shot on video and its only true slasher film. Captured on U-matic in the early 1980s, the film blends DIY brutality, punk attitude, and regional mythmaking into a uniquely abrasive experience.

Set on the abandoned estate of Byfors, the story follows a mysterious, overall-clad killer afflicted with hemophilia, stalking the grounds as blood streams from his eyes. When an all-female rock band breaks down nearby during a tour, their detour leads them straight into the path of the relentless figure haunting the ruins. What follows is a collision of lo-fi horror, music culture, and raw shot-on-video aesthetics.

Directed by magazine editor and pop-culture provocateur Hans Hatwig, The Bleeder became infamous through clever marketing, including a rumour-fueled association with Gene Simmons that helped cement its cult reputation. Klubb Super 8 presents the film on Blu-ray in a limited edition release, preserving a rare and unruly chapter of Swedish exploitation cinema.
