June and her Persian-exiled mother Lela travel to the romantic Azores islands for a grief anniversary, but they arrive with very different ideas about how to mourn, how to live and how to move forward. Surrounded by honeymooners, online reminders of Woman Life Freedom and a charming surfer tour guide named João, mother and daughter are forced to navigate loss, flirtation, family tension and the strange beauty of being alive.
 
Playful, tender and quietly moving, Honeyjoon is a light-and-dark comedy about living with loss, feeling at home in your body and trying, awkwardly and honestly, to reconnect with the world. This Blu-ray edition includes director commentary, behind-the-scenes material, short featurettes, trailer, image gallery, booklet, poster, postcards and a limited slipcover designed by Evan Davison.
