This Arrow Video collection gathers Yoshida’s loosely connected trilogy exploring anarchism, political ideology and revolutionary thought in both historical and contemporary contexts.

Eros + Massacre interweaves two timelines, following early twentieth-century anarchist thinker Sakae Osugi alongside a pair of modern student activists. Their intersecting narratives create a layered meditation on politics, sexuality and the legacy of radical thought.
 
Heroic Purgatory continues Yoshida’s avant-garde exploration of political identity in early 1970s Japan, presenting a dreamlike narrative filled with shifting perspectives and philosophical debate.
 
Coup d’état shifts focus to the past, dramatizing the life of right-wing revolutionary Ikki Kita and the ideological tensions that culminated in the failed 1936 coup attempt. Yoshida considered this film the culmination of his cinematic work and retired from feature filmmaking shortly afterward.
 
Together these films represent some of the most daring and intellectually ambitious works of the Japanese New Wave.
