Jesse (Richard Gere, American Gigolo), a restless and cocky criminal with a love of fast cars, rock ‘n’ roll, and comic books, becomes infatuated with Monica (Valérie Kaprisky, La Femme Publique), a French exchange student at UCLA. On the run after a car theft and the accidental killing of a highway patrolman, Jesse navigates the streets of Los Angeles, passing time in swimming pools, romancing Monica, and evading the law that is closing in on him.

A bold remake of Jean-Luc Godard’s French New Wave classic À bout de souffle (1960), Breathless updates the tale with 1980s style, blending romance, crime, and the heightened sex and violence of its era. Directed by American iconoclast Jim McBride (David Holzman’s Diary, The Big Easy) and co-written with L.M. Kit Carson (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Paris, Texas), this Breathless 4K Blu-ray edition presents the film newly restored from its original camera negative. With vibrant cinematography by Richard H. Kline (Body Heat, The Fury) and a wealth of bonus features, this release delivers the complete Breathless 4K Blu-ray experience for collectors and fans alike.
