Treasures from the Golestan Film Studio LE Blu-ray presents the complete surviving output of the pioneering Iranian film studio founded by influential filmmaker, writer and producer Ebrahim Golestan. Spanning documentaries, short films and landmark features produced between 1958 and 1974, this collection brings together some of the most important works in the history of Iranian cinema in newly restored and definitive editions.

The studio's earliest productions helped introduce Iranian cinema to international audiences, including The House Is Black, directed by celebrated poet Forough Farrokhzad. From 1961 onward, Golestan expanded into fiction filmmaking, producing works such as the groundbreaking Brick and Mirror and the satirical Secrets of the Jinn Valley Treasure. Long circulated in compromised and censored versions, these films are now presented in restored editions that reveal their full artistic significance.

Moving fluidly between documentary, political allegory and poetic experimentation, the films collected here chart the emergence of the Iranian New Wave and continue to influence generations of filmmakers, from Abbas Kiarostami to Jonathan Glazer.
