The Inquisitor + Deadly Circuit Blu-ray pairs two gripping French polars from director Claude Miller, whose dark psychological edge evokes the work of Claude Chabrol. Anchored by towering performances from Michel Serrault, these tense crime dramas navigate obsession, interrogation, and moral ambiguity alongside co-stars Lino Ventura and Isabelle Adjani.

In The Inquisitor (1981), police officers Gallien (Ventura) and Belmont (Guy Marchand) interrogate Martinaud (Serrault), a prominent lawyer suspected of rape and murder. As testimonies collide and his wife (Romy Schneider) enters the frame, the case becomes an electrifying chamber piece of suspicion and shifting power. The film was a major critical and commercial success, earning multiple César nominations and wins.

Deadly Circuit (1983) shifts into darker, ironic territory, with Serrault playing a private investigator who becomes dangerously fascinated by the elusive killer (Adjani) he is hired to track. Following her across Europe, he spirals into obsession in a pitch-black thriller laced with biting humour and a stellar supporting cast including Stéphane Audran, Macha Méril, Sami Frey, and Jean-Claude Brialy.
