Based on the famous classical novel Jin Ping Mei, The Golden Lotus follows a wealthy merchant whose pursuit of another man’s wife leads into a tale of desire, class and social corruption. The film also features the screen debut of Jackie Chan.

Li Han-hsiang combines themes of seduction, revenge and karmic consequence in two period tales featuring Shaw Brothers favourites including Elliot Ngok Wah, Siu Yam-yam and Tien Ni. This release marks the film’s worldwide Blu-ray debut.
