Lundgren stars as Lt. Nikolai Rachenko, a Soviet Special Forces soldier sent to infiltrate an African rebel uprising and assassinate its anti-Communist leader. When the mission fails, Nikolai is captured, tortured and forced into a desperate escape across hostile terrain.
 
On the run and aided by an African bushman, Nikolai begins to question the side he has been fighting for. Returning to the conflict with a new purpose, he joins the rebel forces and turns his training against his former comrades. Featuring M. Emmet Walsh, Brion James and special effects by Tom Savini, Red Scorpion arrives from Synapse Films in a new 2K high-definition transfer with extensive bonus features.
