A stranger named Django arrives in a western town with vengeance on his mind. Before confronting each target, he places a cross in the street bearing the person’s name and death date, marking them for judgment before carrying out his revenge. As the bodies pile up, the question grows: is Django simply an unstoppable man, or something more like an avenging angel of death?
 
Released four years before High Plains Drifter, Django the Bastard has often been noted for its striking similarities to Clint Eastwood’s later supernatural western. This Synapse Films Blu-ray features the alternate U.S. version, remastered in high-definition widescreen from an original 35mm negative element.
