Juraj Herz’s Morgiana (1972) casts Iva Janžurová in a dazzling dual role as two embittered sisters locked in a gothic spiral of jealousy and poison. The Savage Eye (1959), a hybrid of dramatization and documentary, follows Barbara Baxley through an emotionally fractured Los Angeles, drifting between despair and voyeuristic modernity. Eloy de la Iglesia’s The Glass Ceiling (1971) traps its heroine inside an apartment block riddled with paranoia, suspicion and the threat of murder. With nearly eleven hours of new and archival supplements, this volume deepens the psychological landscapes that define Janisse’s influential study.
