But the popular crowd is ruled by Stacy, whose cruelty and status make her both admired and resented. When Stacy is found dead, the tragedy shakes the entire community and exposes the pressures, rivalries and hidden tensions beneath the school’s polished surface.
 
Based on a real case, Death of a Cheerleader became a long-running cable TV favourite and remains one of the most memorable 1990s small-screen thrillers.
