Mimsy Farmer stars as Silvia, a woman haunted by disturbing childhood memories of her mother applying perfume while dressed in black. As Silvia’s mental state deteriorates, her grip on reality begins to fracture. Nightmarish hallucinations blur with violent events in the real world, leaving her unsure whether she is witnessing supernatural horrors or losing her mind.
 
Beautifully photographed by Palme d’Or-winning cinematographer Mario Masini and featuring a haunting score by Academy Award-winning composer Nicola Piovani, The Perfume of the Lady in Black remains a stylish and deeply unsettling cult classic of 1970s Italian cinema.
