The Man Who Left His Will on Film Blu-ray presents Nagisa Oshima’s 1970 film in a Standard Edition UK import release from Radiance Films. A student filmmaker captures what appear to be his final days before suicide, but after his death the footage is seized by the police.
 
As his classmates debate how to recover the film and camera, one of the most radical members of the group becomes obsessed with the missing footage. His fixation leads him into a relationship with the dead filmmaker’s girlfriend, and when the film is finally recovered, the boundaries between memory, identity, past and present begin to dissolve.
 
Incorporating figures from Japan’s amateur filmmaking scene, The Man Who Left His Will on Film stands as Oshima’s final statement on the student protest movement he had confronted in Night and Fog in Japan. This Region Free Blu-ray edition features a new 4K restoration from the original negative, uncompressed mono PCM audio, newly improved English subtitle translation and new extras.
