Released by Eureka's Masters of Cinema series, this collection explores the politically charged Indianerfilme genre, offering a unique perspective on the American frontier through the lens of East German filmmaking.
 
A close relation to the Spaghetti Western, Indianerfilme focused on the struggles of Indigenous peoples against European settlers, challenging the myths of the traditional American Western. Gojko Mitić stars in all four films presented here: Chingachgook the Great Serpent, Fatal Error, Apaches and Blood Brothers.
 
Based on James Fenimore Cooper's The Deerslayer, Chingachgook the Great Serpent follows the legendary Mohican hero on a dangerous rescue mission. Fatal Error sees a Native American community confront the corrupt Wyoming Oil Company, while Apaches tells the story of a young warrior seeking revenge for the massacre of his tribe. Blood Brothers stars Dean Reed as an American deserter who joins forces with a Native American tribe in their struggle for survival.
