In postwar America, prominent surgeon Dr. Michael Parker is shocked when the wife he believed dead suddenly reappears after years away. Through flashbacks to wartime Austria, the film reveals how they met, married and were torn apart by one fateful mistake.
 
Filmed in CinemaScope and Technicolor, Never Say Goodbye blends romantic melodrama with postwar longing and emotional uncertainty.
