Deaf Crocodile presents Jan S Kolar Czech Silents Limited Edition Blu-ray, the first-ever Blu-ray release dedicated to one of the pioneering figures of early Czech cinema. Created in collaboration with the Národní filmový archív in Prague and Comeback Company, this deluxe collection showcases two of Jan S. Kolár's most ambitious silent features alongside an outstanding selection of rare short films and archival material.
 
Spanning supernatural fantasy, medieval epic, comedy and early science fiction, these films highlight the creativity and innovation that helped shape Czech cinema during the silent era. Included are the occult fantasy The Arrival from the Darkness (1921) and the lavish historical epic St. Wenceslas (1929), both presented with newly commissioned musical scores. A substantial collection of shorts and archival films further explores Kolár's remarkable career and the development of Czech filmmaking during the early twentieth century.
 
All films feature Czech intertitles with English subtitles.
