The House of Psychotic Women: Rarities Collection Blu-ray gathers four elusive and unsettling visions of female instability, curated to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Kier-La Janisse’s landmark book. Each film examines identity, trauma and psychic rupture in radically different forms. In Identikit (1974), Elizabeth Taylor portrays a woman spiralling through Rome in search of a dangerous final encounter. The Polish vampire tale I Like Bats (1986) blends gothic longing with offbeat comedy as its heroine wrestles with desire and self-loathing. The giallo Footprints (1975) follows a woman haunted by amnesia, lost memories and lunar nightmares. Jane Arden’s The Other Side of the Underneath (1972) plunges into raw, confrontational psychodrama, blurring performance and psychological breakdown. Presented on US Blu-ray for the first time, this set assembles new introductions, commentaries, interviews and rare archival materials that deepen each film’s connection to Janisse’s exploration of on-screen neurosis.
