The Eurocrypt of Christopher Lee Collection 2 Blu-ray continues Severin Films’ deep-dive into Christopher Lee’s most unexpected European performances, gathering five rare features spanning three decades. Opening with the 1959 Italian comedy Uncle Was a Vampire, Lee revisits his Dracula persona in a playful post-Hammer twist. In 1962’s The Secret of the Red Orchid, he headlines a stylish German krimi opposite Klaus Kinski. The 1974 British thriller Dark Places pairs Lee with Joan Collins, Herbert Lom and Jane Birkin in a moody tale of inheritance and insanity. The set also includes the superior Director’s Cut of Dracula and Son (1976), Lee’s final performance as the Count, along with the ultra-rare Dutch drama Murder Story (1989), where Lee appears in the neon-soaked underbelly of Amsterdam. Featuring remasters from original negatives, alternate cuts, extensive commentaries, archival interviews, rare trailers and a newly produced 100-page Jonathan Rigby book, this collection highlights Lee’s most overlooked and fascinating international work.
