Fear In The Philippines: The Complete Blood Island Films Blu-ray gathers four legendary Filipino horror shockers into a definitive two-disc collection, newly restored with improved colour and audio. Produced between 1959 and 1971 by Eddie Romero, Gerardo de Leon, and Hemisphere Pictures impresario Samuel M. Sherman, the Blood Island cycle remains one of the most deliriously unhinged runs of monster-and-madness cinema ever made.

The set begins with Terror Is a Man, a savage reworking of The Island of Dr. Moreau that The New York Times called “quite terrifying,” starring Francis Lederer as a scientist whose experiments blur the line between man and beast. Brides of Blood follows with a taboo-smashing descent into jungle depravity, as John Ashley and Beverly Powers are drawn into a nightmare of violence, cult behaviour, and twisted rituals.

Mad Doctor of Blood Island escalates the carnage even further, pairing Ashley with Angelique Pettyjohn in what has been hailed as one of the nastiest and goriest films of the 1960s, while Beast of Blood delivers the most aggressive entry in the series, featuring Celeste Yarnall and newly scanned from a 35mm print by the Library of Congress.

All four films are presented uncut, scanned in 4K, and accompanied by more than eight hours of special features, making this Severin Films release the ultimate presentation of a cycle that helped define Filipino exploitation horror and drive-in excess.
