In 18th-century Italy, seminary student Giacomo abandons his religious studies and accepts a mysterious offer of sanctuary. He is sent deep into the mountains to serve as assistant to an exiled priest known as the Arcane Sorcerer, whose controversial research is focused on esoteric practices and the mysteries of death.

At the priest’s isolated villa, Giacomo learns that the previous assistant was rumoured to have made a pact with the devil and may have discovered a way to transcend death itself. As whispers echo through the night and ghostly apparitions begin appearing in the ancient halls, Giacomo becomes increasingly drawn toward the secrets hidden within the sorcerer’s research.
