When Don Sebastian (Bernhard Minetti) diverts vital water to sustain his cattle, the balance between the communities begins to fracture. His obsession with Martha (Leni Riefenstahl), an outsider caught between both worlds, only deepens the divide. As she attempts to mediate between the two sides, greed and power push the situation toward inevitable violence.
 
Filmed in 1932 but not completed until 1954 due to wartime disruption and lost footage, Tiefland carries a unique historical weight. This 4K restoration from the original 35mm negative offers a renewed presentation of a film shaped by both ambition and circumstance.
