A spillage of toxic waste causes Catherine to rise from the dead with an insatiable hunger for blood. Returning to her family home, she reconnects with her childhood friend Hélène, who attempts to understand Catherine’s condition and ultimately becomes her accomplice. As Catherine’s need for blood intensifies, loyalty gives way to obsession, and the consequences turn increasingly tragic.
 
Starring Françoise Blanchard, Marina Pierro, and Mike Marshall, and co-written by Jacques Ralf, The Living Dead Girl is elevated by Philippe D’Aram’s haunting score and Rollin’s unmistakable dreamlike sensibility. Dark, unsettling, and deeply tragic, the film stands as one of the director’s most uncompromising works, now restored from the original negative for its definitive presentation.
