Written and directed by Todd Durham, the film follows Dr. William Hopper (Chris Elliott), a self-assured UFO scientist tracking an intergalactic villain who has crash-landed on Earth. What unfolds is a chaotic clash between alien forces, small-town locals and the U.S. National Guard, blending sci-fi tropes with offbeat comedy and satirical energy. With its deliberately scrappy style and playful tone, the film leans into its cult roots while delivering a uniquely bizarre adventure.
 
This director’s cut also includes The Fright Before Christmas, a darkly comedic holiday short that shifts gears into horror territory, following a group of children who begin to suspect their Christmas visit may not be as warm and familiar as it seems. Both titles are restored in 4K and presented in multiple viewing formats, including stereoscopic and anaglyphic 3-D as well as standard 2-D.
