Frightmare Blu-ray resurrects a blood-soaked slice of Tromatic 1980s horror, blending old-Hollywood mythology with splatter-heavy revenge. Directed by Norman Thaddeus Vane, the film taps into the ghosts of classic monster cinema and drags them screaming into an era of gore, punk energy, and DIY excess.

After the death of legendary horror actor Conrad Radzoff, a group of ambitious drama students desecrate his crypt, stealing the corpse and transporting it to the decaying mansion where his most famous fright films were made. Their act of obsession quickly turns fatal as Radzoff’s vengeful spirit rises from the grave, stalking the students through the night and dispatching them with savage, supernatural fury.

Packed with practical effects by Chuck E. Stewart and featuring early appearances from cult icons including Jeffrey Combs, Nina Talbot, and Scott Thomson, Frightmare stands as a love letter to Hollywood’s Golden Era filtered through the anarchic, gore-driven lens of Troma. Equal parts haunted-house chiller and splatter spectacle, it remains a cult favourite of VHS-era horror excess.
