Fade to Black 4K Ultra HD brings Vernon Zimmerman’s cult slasher to collectors in a new 4K restoration from the original camera negative. A darkly satirical take on movie obsession, the film blends psychological horror with a twisted love letter to classic cinema.

Eric Binford (Dennis Christopher) is a socially isolated film fanatic whose passion for movies begins to consume him completely. As his grip on reality slips, Eric starts reenacting iconic scenes from his favourite films — with deadly consequences.

Mixing slasher elements with biting commentary on fandom and identity, Fade to Black stands out as a unique and unsettling entry in early 1980s horror, featuring an early appearance from Mickey Rourke and a tone that balances surreal humour with genuine menace.
