Danger: Diabolik 4K Ultra HD brings Mario Bava’s explosively stylish comic-book crime fantasia to life in a lavish limited edition release. Adapted from the wildly popular Italian fumetti neri created by Angela and Luciana Giussani, the film transforms pulp crime comics into a kaleidoscopic pop-art spectacle that stands as one of the most distinctive European genre films of the 1960s.

Somewhere in Europe, master thief Diabolik orchestrates a string of audacious robberies while staying one step ahead of the relentless Inspector Ginko. Alongside his glamorous accomplice Eva Kant, Diabolik steals millions in cash, emeralds, and gold, humiliating both law enforcement and government officials as his criminal ambitions escalate. What begins as a police procedural quickly evolves into a flamboyant celebration of anti-authoritarian cool, driven by daring heists, erotic menace, and Ennio Morricone’s iconic score.

Directed by Mario Bava at the height of his creative powers, Danger: Diabolik was designed to capitalize on the European supervillain boom sparked by Dr. Mabuse, Fantômas, and Fu Manchu, while pushing the genre into boldly modern territory. With its vivid color design, graphic compositions, and sardonic tone, the film occupies a central place in Bava’s filmography and remains a touchstone of pop cinema.

The Masters of Cinema Series presents Danger: Diabolik on 4K UHD and Blu-ray for the first time in the UK, sourced from a stunning new restoration and housed in a premium limited edition hardbound set.
