TraviCom owner and multimillionaire R.B. Travis (Joe Don Baker, Walking Tall) sends his son Charles (Bruce Campbell, The Evil Dead) and his friend Jeffrey (Taylor Nichols, Metropolitan) to the Congo in search of rare blue diamonds that can power telecommunications lasers. When Charles and Jeffrey are ambushed, Dr. Karen Ross (Laura Linney, The Truman Show), who observes the attack via remote video feed, is sent to follow their trail and hopefully find Charles alive. Along the way, Karen joins Dr. Peter Elliot (Dylan Walsh, Nobody's Fool), his assistant (Grant Heslov, True Lies), and a gorilla named Amy, who communicates via a sign-language glove translating her movements into audible dialogue (voiced by Shayna Fox). The expedition faces hostile militaries, local tribes, and a race of gray killer apes while seeking the Lost City of Zinj.

Based on Michael Crichton’s 1980 novel, Congo blends high-tech sci-fi with roaring adventure, much like Jurassic Park before it. Directed by Frank Marshall (Arachnophobia) with a script by John Patrick Shanley (Moonstruck), lush cinematography by Allen Daviau (E.T., The Color Purple), and a bombastic score by Jerry Goldsmith (Alien, Poltergeist), this Congo 4K Blu-ray edition presents the film newly restored from its 35mm camera negative. Packed with new and archival bonus features, this release delivers the full Congo 4K Blu-ray experience for collectors and fans alike.
