The Boys Next Door 4K Ultra HD marks the worldwide UHD premiere of Penelope Spheeris’ raw and unsettling 1985 cult classic — a fearless descent into teenage rage, alienation, and violence. Long before Wayne’s World, Spheeris (The Decline of Western Civilization trilogy) explored the darker side of youth culture with a film that pushed 1980s teen cinema to its breaking point.

Maxwell Caulfield (Grease 2) and Charlie Sheen (Platoon) deliver chilling performances as two high school outsiders who embark on a weekend road trip to Los Angeles — a journey that spirals from petty rebellion into an unrelenting spree of crime and murder. With a gritty punk rock soundtrack featuring Iggy Pop, Tex & the Horseheads, and The Cramps, The Boys Next Door captures the raw energy and nihilism of a generation on the edge.

Written by Glen Morgan and James Wong (Final Destination, The X-Files), this “dark, forbidding vision” (Los Angeles Times) has been restored in 4K from the original camera negative and loaded with brand-new special features, interviews, and commentary celebrating Spheeris’ unflinching look at youth gone wrong.
