Love, Death & Apocalypse: 3 Films by Alex de la Iglesia 4K Ultra HD brings together three outrageous cult classics from the wildly inventive Spanish filmmaker. Blending horror, black comedy, crime and absurdist satire, the films of Álex de la Iglesia are known for their explosive energy, grotesque humour and fearless visual style.
Produced by Pedro Almodóvar, Acción Mutante launched de la Iglesia’s career with a vicious sci-fi black comedy set in a dystopian future where beauty rules society and a band of self-proclaimed mutants wage war against the attractive elite. He followed it with the legendary horror comedy The Day of the Beast, in which a Catholic priest teams up with a heavy metal fan and an occult TV host to prevent the birth of the Antichrist on Christmas Eve. Completing the trilogy is the chaotic crime-horror road movie Perdita Durango, starring Rosie Perez, Javier Bardem and James Gandolfini in a twisted tale of love, voodoo, drugs and ultraviolence.
Presented on 4K Ultra HD for the first time in the UK with Dolby Vision restorations and an extensive selection of archival and newly produced extras, this Arrow Video limited edition celebrates the delirious, diabolical world of Álex de la Iglesia.
