Allonsanfan Blu-ray presents the Taviani brothers’ sweeping historical drama, newly restored in 2K from the original negative and released on Blu-ray for the first time in the world. Set during the Restoration following Napoleon’s fall, the film follows Fulvio (Marcello Mastroianni), a disillusioned aristocrat and former revolutionary whose cowardice keeps him from fully rejoining his comrades — until he is swept into a doomed uprising in Southern Italy.

Blending political drama with magic realism and absurdist irony, Allonsanfan showcases Mastroianni in one of his most complex performances, complemented by lush period detail and a magnificent score by Ennio Morricone. A cornerstone of 1970s Italian cinema, the film remains an essential work from Paolo and Vittorio Taviani.
