Code of the Forgotten Eight follows the nihilistic ronin Shino Ashita, who joins the ruthless Bohachi clan, a corrupt group of samurai operating a vast prostitution ring. Acting as their assassin in a brutal war against a rival clan, he is drawn ever deeper into a world of violence, betrayal and depravity. In The Villain, condemned criminal Kyushi Issho becomes entangled with the infamous Bohachi samurai, leading him into an equally savage world of bloodshed and corruption.
 
Blending samurai action with the provocative style of 1970s Japanese exploitation cinema, these films stand as landmark examples of the ero guro jidaigeki genre.
