What do we do with the books?

Peak Books is a for-profit business with a strong focus on responsible reuse.
Many donation systems operate with complex overhead, meaning not all items can be processed or rehomed easily. Our model keeps things simple and focused on reuse and redistribution.
Although we operate a small online bookstore, most donated items are not sold. In fact, up to 95% of donated books are not suited for resale but are still perfectly reusable, so we work to rehome them through:
-
schools
-
hospitals
-
libraries
-
local non-profits
-
community partners
-
charities across Calgary
If an item cannot be reused or redistributed, we recycle it whenever possible to keep it out of landfills.
This simple, convenient drop-off system is why so many people choose Peak Books as their book and media donation centre in Calgary.
