Produced by Paul Vecchiali’s Diagonale, the film follows one woman across a night in Paris, moving from an adult movie theater to a lesbian nightclub and into an unexpected late-night drive.
 
Simone works as an usherette, trading observations with a colleague as a stream of unusual customers pass through the theater. After her shift, she waits for her girlfriend in a nightclub full of eccentric personalities, before the film shifts again into a quieter, stranger encounter on the road.
 
Funny, atmospheric and quietly radical, Simone Barbès or Virtue captures the offbeat possibilities of post-New Wave French cinema with a blend of irony, intimacy and sincerity. This first North American release includes a 4K scan and restoration, short film, visual essay, interviews, improved subtitle translation, reversible sleeve, limited booklet and Radiance limited edition packaging.
