Lars von Trier’s The Kingdom Trilogy 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray presents the complete Danish hospital horror-comedy saga in a limited edition Australian import release from Imprint Television. Set within the neurosurgical ward of Copenhagen’s Rigshospitalet, the trilogy blends supernatural horror, black comedy, medical melodrama and surreal absurdity into one of von Trier’s most distinctive works.
 
Across The Kingdom, The Kingdom II and The Kingdom: Exodus, strange events unfold inside the hospital as spirits, doctors, patients and staff become entangled in an increasingly bizarre web of secrets, corruption and otherworldly forces. Originally titled Riget in Denmark, the series became known for its eerie atmosphere, grotesque humour and unmistakable visual style.
 
Starring Søren Pilmark, Ghita Nørby, Birgitte Raaberg, Peter Mygind and Udo Kier, with appearances from Stellan Skarsgård, Alexander Skarsgård, Willem Dafoe and Lars von Trier, The Kingdom Trilogy is presented here in Imprint’s 7-disc limited edition hardbox. The Kingdom and The Kingdom II were newly scanned in 3K from the original 16mm negatives and upscaled to 4K by Zentropa, with authoring and encoding by Fidelity In Motion.
