Haxan Blu-ray presents Benjamin Christensen’s landmark 1922 silent classic, an eerie fusion of documentary and dramatized horror exploring witchcraft, superstition and religious hysteria across the ages. Through striking vignettes of occult ritual, medieval witch trials and demonic imagery — with Christensen himself appearing as the Devil — the film crafts a bold, unsettling vision that prefigures Gothic horror and modern genre experimentation.

Long released in multiple edits, this special edition gathers four distinct versions of the film for the first time in the UK, including a 2K restoration by original production company Svensk Filmindustri. A visually audacious and historically provocative work, Haxan remains one of cinema’s most daring early masterpieces.
