A Free Woman Limited Edition Blu-ray presents Vittorio Cottafavi’s 1954 Italian melodrama in a region free release from Radiance. Newly restored by Radiance and presented on home video for the first time outside Italy, the film stars Françoise Christophe as Liana, a woman who begins to question the life expected of her on the eve of marriage.
 
Convinced she does not want to live in service of a man, Liana leaves for Amalfi, where she begins a new relationship before moving on to Paris. Each new attempt at independence brings its own emotional limits, leading her through a series of choices shaped by desire, constraint and consequence.
 
Elegant, emotionally complex and strikingly modern, A Free Woman explores female autonomy through a melodramatic style reminiscent of Douglas Sirk and Max Ophuls. This limited edition Blu-ray includes a 2K restoration from the original negative, archival director interview, new interview with Italian film expert Stephen Gundle, reversible sleeve, booklet and Radiance limited edition packaging.
